Paytm founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma recently showed interest in funding an initiative for stray dogs. Sharma shared a picture of an Istanbul-based initiative that feeds stray dogs through a vending machine. The vending machine dispenses food and water in return of people feeding in recyclable plastic bottles.
“I will love to fund this, need some champion of change,” Sharma wrote on X.

Shared on July 17, Sharma’s post sparked a chatter over adopting stray dogs. While a section of social media users hailed Sharma’s initiative, others argued over feeding stray dogs. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “Awesome. Would love to be a part of this project!” Another user commented, “I love this. But don’t you think people will try to use this to their advantage? You need some security or something.”
“It’s amazing how a simple act of recycling can make such a big difference in the lives of these animals. Imagine if every city adopted this approach—what a difference we could make!” a third user wrote.
