A group of persons, reportedly relatives of a patient who passed away during treatment at a private hospital in Lucknow, allegedly assaulted the owner of the medical facility, holding him responsible for the death.
A video of the incident is also doing rounds on social media.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Anshu Jain said an FIR has been filed against unidentified persons in connection with the incident and an investigation is underway.
The complainant, Dr Ravi Dev, runs a hospital in Gomti Nagar Extension in the city. The police said they are examining the videos of the incident to identify those who assaulted the doctor. The complainant claimed that he did not know the people who attacked him.
According to the police, Kumar, a patient of Banthara area in Lucknow suffering from a neurological issues, was admitted to the hospital two days ago. He died during treatment on Tuesday.
Angered by his death, the deceased’s family members attacked Dr Dev, alleging that his death was due to the doctor’s negligence. They thrashed
and misbehaved with him, it was alleged.
